My rooster

This little fellow came to live with me over the Christmas holiday.

I have inherited my Mom's insane love of chickens and roosters. I used to think she was weird to like them so much. Now, I am weird.

She bought this a long time ago. She told Neil not to let me get one. And, boy, I had my eye on it! I would walk by them every time I was in Walmart to see what they were marked down to. It was funny. Neil told me he knew what she got me. He is horrible at keeping secrets. Well, actually I am really good at reading him. I thought I knew what it was. I thought she had gotten me these globe things you put into your plants and they water them.

I opened up a box, and sure enough there where these globes. I started laughing, and said "I knew it!" Neil started laughing, and said "NOPE!" And for once I didn't get it right. Because I opened the next box, and this rooster was in it. That was what he knew I was getting. Not the globes. I just happened to get those, too.

Okay, it was funny to us. But I love both gifts. I love my rooster, who proudly protects my nest, and I love the globes! They really work! I already refilled the one in my peace lily. I want more, because those peace lilies really love the water.

So, thank you Mom for my wonderful gifts. You were very thoughtful in what you got everyone!

Love, Camie
