OUT FOR SUMMER!!!!!!!!!!! WHOOOO!!!

As Neil says, I've got all my little chicks back home in the nest. YEAH!

It is now official. I am a mommy to a kindergartner and a 2nd grader! Sniff, sniff. Wasn't it just last week, that they were here?



I was gonna post all their first day of school pictures, but of course I'm missing this year's picture, so I'll do it some other time. But my babies are sure growing up!

This is from today, as they started their last day of school!

Mother's Day/Ike's graduation

We had so much fun on Mother's Day weekend. It was a combination of celebrating Isaac graduating with his Master's, Mom's birthday, and Mother's Day. We met up with my family in Canyon and took tons of pictures. I got a few good ones I can't wait to share. After graduation we went to Feldman's and ate. It's one of the best restaurants. Then we went to Isaac's house and took family pictures. We stayed the night in Dumas and went to church with my parents. It's one of the first Mother's Day that I've actually gotten to spend with my mother since I've become a mother. It was the best one yet. Mom and I both had beautiful corsages and we just had the best time. I was so glad to be able to spend time with Neil, my girls, and my family. I'm very blessed to have such a fun loving family. We have so much fun together. We really missed Jeremy's kiddos, but I know Mandy and him don't get away much, so we understood. We are starting t-ball and machine pitch now. Emma had her 3rd game tonight. Apparently, it was one of her best games. The coach was impressed with her catching and throwing. I missed it all, Lily started t-ball practice today. I was so disappointed. But I am incredibly proud of Emma. She is having so much fun playing this year. I think we are gonna have a lot of running to Lily's games and then high tailing it to Emma's games. Wouldn't be too bad, but they are gonna be in seperate towns half the time. But it's so worth seeing them excel in sports. I'm so glad they are doing it. I loved it when I was growing up. My dad is a hugh fan of baseball, so I'm thrilled they have this to share with him. We only have one week of school left. And I am so ready for them to be done. Lily is ready, Emma isn't. But I have a lot planned. My walking buddies and I are gonna take the girls swimming, to movies, and just have lots of fun this summer. So, hopfully, I will have lots of activities to photograph. We have been so busy the last few weeks. I started walking with a couple of moms here. We walking daily for 5.5 miles. It takes 1 and a half hours, so by the time I get home and cleaned up, my morning is shot. So, if I don't get on here much, we are either out having fun, or I'm out getting healthy! So, hope all your Mother's Day was great, and I'll post pictures soon!

...my other brother, Isaac, is FINALLY graduating from college with his Master's Degree! We are all so thrilled and proud of him! I know his family is ready for him to be just Dad. Not Dad the student! So, when we return from our weekend with my family, I will show you all pics of this weekend. We also are gonna go to Dumas and spending Mother's Day with my mom and dad. So, hopefully we will have lots of pics to share.

Tomorrow my mom turns 57 years old. One neat thing about us, is that we both were the same age, to the very day, that we had our first babies. Two days before we turned 22. Cool huh?

Night Terrors

This little girl here, has night terrors. It's no big deal anymore. At least it isn't most of the times. We've known about it for quite some time. We think she gets them from me. I think she started having them when she was 2 or 3. When she first started them, we had no clue what was going on. She would run into our room screaming and crying and then run out of our room looking for me. And I would run after her, get into her face, and ask "What's wrong!?!" And she would say "I want MOMMY! I want MOMMY!" Ummm, Darlin' I'm right here. We finally caught on that she wasn't fully awake, and no matter what we did, she wasn't wakin' up. Our doctor clued us in, and told us a horror story about how he had them as a child, and would wake up in the morning with dirty feet from climbing out his bedroom window!!!!!!!!! Thankfully, she hasn't tried the great escape yet. But we are gonna bolt our doors and block our windows. She has gotten much better with them, and goes a long time without them. But then one night she will just pop up and come running again. There's nothing you can do. I've read where moms were giving their children Benadryl, I guess to put them further under. But I just can't do that. There was one week that she was doing it nightly, so I finally called her new pedi, and he said there's nothing you can do, keep her completely safe, and keep taking her back to her bed. And make sure all the windows and doors are locked. Most of the time, we just tell her to go back to bed, and she will. Some nights, she's up and down for hours. One time she did this and I gave up and sat at her door. Every time I saw her hop up, I would put her back down. Her dad got home, he went in and tucked her in and kissed her goodnight, not another peep. One night she was very frantic about going to the potty, so we helped her go, she washed her hands, walked out, and got frantic again, so we helped her again. She'd sit for maybe 2 seconds, hop up, wash her hands, and walk out. She did this maybe 10 times. We finally told her, "Emma, you went, you're clean, you're safe, you've done everything you need to do. It's time to go to sleep now." That usually calms her down, and she'll go back to sleep. Usually, it's a little scary seeing her so panicy, but sometimes, she's so funny, and it relieves the tension of her having these terrors. Which leads me to just the other night. The girls had gone to bed and were asleep and Neil and I were watching tv. Emma runs in with a HUGE grin on her face and says, "Momma! I finally found...umm...I finally found my...ummm...(we know she's asleep because she has a hard time finishing a thought)...I finally found my....my FRECKLES!!! No, no, wait! I finally found my...um...." and then she grinned real big and ran back to bed. Neil and I couldn't help but laugh and we got up to make sure she went back to bed. She had, I covered her up and told her to go to sleep and she said, "Momma will you sit with me." And she was out. She's so sweet. I love those tender moments. And we were so glad she found her adorable freckles!

I got flowers!

Aren't they pretty?! My mom sent me flowers the other day, for helping out with my grandmother's funeral arrangements. Wasn't that sweet?

"Mom, that you so much for the flowers. They were beautiful! And there was no need to thank me. I was honored you asked me to help out. Grandma was such a beautiful woman, and it was my honor to help lay her to rest! So, thank YOU for letting me help!"

Happy Easter! (A month late...)

Well, I really need to finish my laundry, and sweep and mop my kitchen floor, so I'm gonna blog. Sounds right, right? Anyway...

We had lots of fun this Easter. Neil was actually off! And even though we wanted to celebrate with family, we were really tired from funeral stuff, and the house was a mess. So, we just stayed home and enjoyed our little family.


We started the weekend with coloring eggs. It was so nice to have Daddy help us with this. He usually misses this part of Easter. The girls had a ball, and did a really good job.


They love doing projects like this. I really look forward to having them home this summer and thinking up ways to keep them busy. (Shaving cream painting anyone?)


Neil and I were both able to do a couple of eggs. It is so much fun resorting back to childhood. We love doing these things with the kids.

That night, I asked the girls if they wanted to sleep in curlers.

Of course they both said YES! I got them in. Lily did really well with hers. Only the very bottoms fell out. Emma on the other had. She kept them in long enough to take pictures, and then they were out. She's like me. They drive her nuts.

Lily will do anything in the name of beauty. ;)

We got the girls dressed up, and we went and sugared them up with a breakfast of donuts.

We have the best donut shop. Better than anything we have had. We cleaned them up and off to church we went.

When we got home, we took pictures and waited for the Easter bunny to come.

I told them to look in their buckets. Emma did hers like a kid. Lily had to pose. I couldn't get a normal shot out of her that day. I guess the dress made her a diva.


I'm not sure what happened here. All I know is she got hurt. I thought is was so funny how they were looking. Lily sure was pouting. And Emma was giving her really good sympathetic sister looks. But in the next frames, they were both laughing hysterically.

Thankfully, the Easter Bunny had come while we were taking pictures! So, the girls grabbed their buckets and took off.

And, here's Miss Emma in her Easter outfit. No dress for this girl. Took forever to find something she and I were both happy about. Does she look different to you? She sure looks different to me. I think she is losing her baby fat. Not that there was much to lose on her. But her face just looks so grown up. At least, as grown up as a 7 year old can look. All I know is that she gets more and more beautiful as the days go by. They both do.


After they were done, the girls looked around, and found these in the garage.

The Easter bunny had left these for the girls. So, after lunch, guess what we did! Yup, we watched movies. It was a very nice afternoon! We were happy to just relax and spend time together. Especially after such a hard, hectic week we had before.
