LILY LOST HER FIRST TOOTH!!!

My baby is losing her babiness. Is that a word? Anyway, she has had a couple of loose teeth for a while now. She was very excited about it at first. The tooth fairy was awesome and she couldn't wait! But....the closer it got to actually having to lose her tooth, the more upset she got. The other day, I had her sitting on my lap and I was wiggling it trying to sneakingly pull it out. But it just wasn't happening.

First of all, I didn't have the guts to give it a good tug. I had this problem with Emma's first tooth and ended up taking her to the school nurse who just grabbed it and handed it to Emma. Secondly, she was soooooooooo upset. I know I shouldn't laugh, but it was so funny! We have it on video, but blogger doesn't like me and my videos, so I have to work on that, but here's her picture.

I mean, she was upset! I thought she was just scared to lose it, but then she told me between sobs, "My tongue...sniff, sniff...is sad...sniff, sniff...because...sniff, sniff...it likes...sniff, sniff...to play...sniff, sniff...with it." Awwww! Poor tongue! So, I finally left her alone, and let her tongue have one more day to play with its mate. But, the next day, Neil had the great idea of having her eat a popsicle and then playing with the tooth. As soon as she finished with the popsicle, Neil asked to wiggle her tooth some, and out it came. And she was so excited this time! Her tongue apparently got over its loss pretty quickly! But, I was thrilled she was all smiles. And a little sad that another milestone is now past.

Happy girl putting her tooth under her pillow for the tooth fairy.

She was a little unsure about the tooth fairy visiting her, but I reassured her that she was fine and completely not scary. She fell fast asleep and woke be up bright and early at 7:15 ish, so excited that the tooth fairy had left her some money and a note. She carried it all around all day.

I love being a mommy to my two sweet girls!
