Like I said, we've been so busy this summer. A few weeks ago, Emma and Lily went to spend time with my mom and dad. They had a ball. They went through withdraws for a few days missing Grandma. The day after we brought them back home, Lily got into trouble, and she cried "That's why I wanted to stay with Grandma!" After I got over having my feelings hurt, we laughed pretty hard at that. Neil and I headed to Austin. We stopped in San Marcus first and hit up the huge outlet malls. We had a lot of fun, despite the heat. Even Neil got into the shopping mood. He bought several things for himself! Besides baseball, trips, and occasionally babysitting, we've also been going to the movies. Every Wednesday morning we get to go see an old movie. It's fun, cheap, and air conditioned! The girls love it! And when we get the chance we head to the pool. We also got to head to the lake this last weekend for the 4th. On Friday, Neil was mowing the grass when he walked in and said, "How about I take you and the girls to the lake and I set you up and go to work?" Ummm... ok, I was gonna clean house, but that sounded so much better. So, we packed up in about 30 minutes and headed out. Neil set up the tent and got us situated and headed to work. I took the girls down to the swimming area and we swam for hours. We actually ran into some friends of ours and the girls swam with their little girl. When they finally got tired and hungry we went back to the tent and had sandwiches. They were so bored after that, but the lake was soooooo busy, I told them we were staying put. So, we read books and talked until dark. The fireworks started around 9:45. They would have been great, but a house was in our way. We only saw the very high ones and the top of the short ones. But the girls really liked it. Neil showed back up around 11:00. He sat at the entryway to the lake for about 30 minutes. The traffic was so bad. His motorcycle was so hot by the time he got back to camp. The next day we went swimming again and then ate hot dogs. We headed home, cleaned up, went to town to eat, and spent the rest of the night waiting for the fireworks show to start up outside of town. It was so much better than the bigger show we usually go to. We parked right beside where we were sitting, and the show was right over head. So, no fighting crowds, no walking 30 minutes to get a good sit, and we were so close we were covered in debri! Neil and I loved it. Lily liked it, but she hid under her blanket every once in awhile. Emma hated it. She cried the whole time. She does not like the boom at all. But it was still a great show. By the time we got home, we were wiped out. We napped on Sunday after church, we did make it, just missed class, and then Monday was clean up day. It was a great weekend, and it makes me so ready for vacation!

When we stopped to make lunch, we found a spot with ducks. The girls were fascinated by them. I had to take a ton of pictures of them.

After we ate, we let the girls feed the ducks our leftovers. The ducks seemed pretty full. I'm sure they had a smorgusbord the night before!

Here's my handsome hubby cooking lunch and watching the girlies.

Neil and I pulled up our chairs and let the girls run around the park until it started to get dark. We were so tired. Can ya tell? Neil's such a goofball.

We all had matching shirts on. I tyed dyed them earlier last week. We were so cute, if I do say so myself. I kept wondering why we were getting such funny looks.
Emma and her daddy

Neil rubbing my feet, ain't I a lucky girl?

The Volunteer fire department were the ones who put the show on this year. They let the kids see the truck. Emma had no interest, but my little social bug wanted to check it out.

I can't remember why she was sad here. But it was too cute.

I was trying to get a picture of the girls, but they kept acting silly. Lily had just licked Emma's ear and Emma was pretty disgusted.

Here we go. Look at those red eyes! They were so tired!

Lily showing off her tying skills. She's getting so good. Oh, and she has 2 loose teeth! She is so excited! The tooth fairy better get ready for her!

And here is one of my favorite pictures of the fireworks. Neil had a lot of fun with my, I mean our, camera that night. He got tons of pictures. Which reminds me, we still need that tripod. I really gotta write that down. Keep forgetting! ;)
