I was so ready for August 9th to get here. Not only did that feel like the day things were finally starting to happen, but it was also Neil's and mine 11th wedding anniversary. I gave Neil a son for our anniversary. Pretty good huh?! (: I was so excited for this day. Neil was finally on vacation! He took off that Monday, and we took the girls to play with Memaw and Cadence while we went out. We didn't do much. I was so tired and extremely nervous! I knew we wouldn't do much, but I really just wanted to get out for the last time, alone, with Neil. We left the girls around noon with Neil's mom, and headed to Cheddar's for lunch. It was really good, but I just couldn't quite get it to go down. Being pregnant, I have a hard time eating anyway, add in a ton of nerves, and well...it just wasn't happening! During lunch, when we were sitting, and just talking, is when it really hit me! I started crying, and I just got really scared. We left pretty quickly, I really needed to be moving and doing something, so we got some last minute shopping done for the baby. Then we did a HUGE grocery shopping spree. I had nothing at the house, and my parents were gonna live there with my girlies for the week, so I needed everything. It took forever to finish up, and while we were checking out, the woman behind us asked when we were due. Neil said TOMORROW!! She was shocked. She scolded us for not finding out the gender of our baby, saying it is so hard on the grandparents. (: And then the check out lady just kept telling me, "Let him take these bags! You don't lift them! This one's really heavy! Leave it for him!!" We were getting a kick out of it. We left Walmart, picked up the girlies and headed home. My parents were already at the house, so the girls were super excited to see them. Mom was astonished at how big my tummy was. She hadn't seen us in a couple of months, so I had grown quite a bit! She made sure get a picture of my tummy.
We stayed up pretty late, I couldn't eat or drink after midnight, so the nurse suggested eating something around 11:30 so I wouldn't be starved. I couldn't sleep anyway, so that's what we did. We also took some last pictures too.
Scary stretch marks! Ha!
I didn't sleep very well that night, but I never do. It was ok though, because I knew I didn't have to lay down long. We finally went to bed around 11:45 pm and got up around 3:30. We had to leave around 4:45 to be at the hospital at 5:30. My doctor informed me that he didn't have to be there until 7:15 for my c-section at 7:30. I told him, "that's ok, you get plenty of rest!" After all, he was the one cutting me open. I really didn't want him falling asleep on the job!
Here's their "Big Sister" outfits all ready to go.
Lily's the pink and black one, and Emma's is the green and pink.
Neil and I made it to the hospital early, and thankfully, we got started right away on prepping me for the delivery. With Lily, it felt like we were waiting forever! I was the first one this time, so they were pretty sure I wouldn't have to wait. As soon as I was prepped, Mom, Dad, and the girlies showed up and entertained us for a few more minutes.
